Pickle Cocktails Are Our New Favourite Tipple

Why are social media users putting a trickle of pickle in their classic cocktails? Going way beyond your Maccy D’s, pickles are having a rather huge moment of their own right now.

The love-it or hate-it food has been smashing social media of late, with an abundance of innovative and fun ways to repurpose the pickle appearing across TikTok and Reels. The fruit roll up pickle challenge? A glass pickle purse? How about a delicious Pickle cupcake? Or perhaps you might be interested in the more palatable, pickle-tini or pickle-rita

The great news is we have some easy-peasy pickle infused cocktail recipes for you….just in case you fancy jumping on the pickle train yourself!

Some of the influencers jumping on the pickle bandwagon:

It’s not just socials that have people going pickle mad either. DELLI, the independent food and drink seller, has noticed a considerable spike in interest for pickle-based drink additions, “Pickles and ferments have been trending on DELLI since day one. At the start, they made up a huge part of our first DELLI makers and we wonder where we’d be without them. What we’re noticing today is a growing trend towards spicy and tangy drinks, too, with the interest for briny Bloody Marys, Picantes and martinis growing daily.”

Dill pickle-flavored snacks have also been popping up everywhere, and the trend is only getting bigger. Yelp’s 2023 Food Trends report said internet searches for pickle-flavored foods were up 55% last year, and Datassential’s FoodBytes trend report said dill pickle fits into the nostalgic flavor category that consumers are craving in 2024.*

To get in on the trend, why not try and whip up a pickle cocktail like the Pickle-rita or Pickle-tini below, using delicious tequila from Casamigos or premium vodka from Ciroc? For alcohol-free options, you can swap out any of the alcoholic versions and replace with a delicious alcohol-free alternative from alcohol-free spirit pioneers Seedlip or the sublime taste of Tanqueray 0.0%:
