A taste of the season: Côte Brasserie introduces ‘secret menu’ item as part of Spring Specials menu

Côte’s new secret menu features a twist on traditional French fries, served with Le Curry Sauce

If pairing fries with curry sauce is your perfect culinary fusion, you can now get your hands on a double portion of frites with Côte Brasserie’s Le Curry Sauce – brought to life by executive chef Steve Allen following popular demand.

This French twist on a British takeaway staple is the perfect casual sharer for any occasion and was added to Côte’s secret menu when customers pleaded for the brand’s April Fools’ joke to become a reality. It’s no surprise that diners were so keen to see the idea brought to life, as a third (31%) of Brits say their favourite condiment to drizzle and dip with frites is curry sauce.

The ‘Frites with Le Curry Sauce’ sharing dish (£5.95) is only available on Côte’s ‘secret menu’ until 16th June. To get your hands on this fusion of flavours, all you need to do is to say Le Curry Sauce when ordering at your local Côte restaurant.

If you’re heading to Côte to try this new and exciting fusion, you can now treat yourself to the finest of seasonal flavours with Côte’s delicious new Spring Specials menu too. Designed to give diners a flavour of locally sourced produce, the new spring menu infuses the brighter days ahead with seasonal recipes crafted to showcase the season’s finest ingredients.

Côte Brasserie’s Executive Chef, Steve Allen, says: “I designed the Spring Specials menu using a range of nutritious and delicious locally sourced seasonal ingredients, including our Wye Valley asparagus. Sourcing local British produce is very important to us, having worked with the same fourth-generation farmers since 2013. Whether you’re visiting with family, or meeting with a group of friends in the sunshine, step into spring with fresh dishes that offer a true taste of the season.”

For the table, enjoy a sharing portion of Wye Valley Asparagus Frites (£8.95) – panko-crusted asparagus, deep-fried and topped with grated Comté cheese, served with an anchovy mayonnaise for dipping. To start, savour the flavour of Grilled Wye Valley Asparagus (£9.95) – on a bed of Béarnaise sauce, topped with a fried egg and crispy Savoie ham – a seasonal take on the British staple of bacon and eggs.

A showstopping flavour sensation is the main event. The Roasted Rump of Spring Lamb (£22.95) is served with confit shallots, new season peas and broad beans in a lightly spiced aromatic sauce topped with fresh apple batons alongside curry leaf frites.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a light yet delicious dessert perfect for spring days, a Strawberry & Rhubarb Mess (£8.25), crushed meringue served with strawberries, basil, homemade rhubarb compote, elderflower syrup and decadent vanilla crème diplomat.

Refresh your palate with a Rhubarb & Custard Collins (£10.95) – Citadelle French gin, homemade rhubarb & vanilla coulis, topped with sparkling water and garnished with a strawberry and fresh mint. Also available as a non-alcoholic soda (£6.95).
