This December, The Idler invites guests to embrace the festive season with an elegant set Christmas menu that marries indulgent flavours with refined comfort.

Crafted in the restaurant’s signature style, and highlighting the finest seasonal British produce infused with Mediterranean finesse, the menu captures the warmth and conviviality of the season, bringing a touch of celebration to the heart of Victoria.

For tables of up to 6, the £75 three-course Christmas menu features dishes that balance traditional winter indulgence with contemporary flair. Starters include a choice of Loch Duart salmon rillette with baguette crisp, caviar and dill, duck terrine with tarragon emulsion, and a rich celeriac, parsnip and Corra Linn cheese velouté topped with winter truffle.

Mains include roasted truffle-stuffed Lake District turkey breast with smoked bacon sausage, crispy confit Gloucester Old Spot pork belly with Pink Lady apple tarte tatin, and olive oil-poached chalk stream trout with bottarga and clementine beurre blanc. A vegetarian highlight of smoked aubergine with tempura wild mushrooms and saffron emulsion rounds out the selection.

Desserts bring a festive finale, choose from panettone bread and butter pudding with candied orange ice cream to sticky date pudding with clotted cream ice cream and sherry foam, or a curated selection of Neal’s Yard cheeses with accompaniments.

Served alongside plates for the table of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, buttered heritage carrots, braised fennel, tenderstem broccoli, and stuffing croquettes, the menu encapsulates a modern British Christmas at its most comforting and celebratory.

For larger gatherings, The Idler’s private dining spaces offer the perfect setting for seasonal events, from intimate business lunches to festive celebrations with friends and family. Set within a stylish, softly lit interior moments from Victoria Station, these spaces blend understated luxury with a relaxed sense of occasion. Dedicated service, curated wines, and bespoke menu options ensure a seamless and memorable dining experience. Tables between 8 and 16 guests are bookable in the private event rooms, and the entire event space can accommodate up to 45 guests for a private takeover.
