COMO The Halkin Launches New COMO Shambhala Summer Afternoon Tea

COMO Hotel’s flagship property, COMO The Halkin, is thrilled to launch a new, exclusive afternoon tea, inspired by the hotel groups signature cuisine, COMO Shambala Kitchen, from its properties located around the world.

Served at the classic Halkin Bar, Chef Melchor Baltasar has meticulously curated a guilt-free menu comprising a delightful blend of savoury and sweet delicacies, accompanied by refreshing COMO Shambhala juices, shots, and hot or cold teas, bringing a wellness-focused summer twist to this cherished British tradition.

In line with the COMO Shambhala holistic wellness concept, which seamlessly combines healthy eating, expert nutrition, and pleasurable gastronomy, Chef Melchor has crafted an afternoon tea that delivers pure, unadulterated pleasure. Inspired by dishes from COMO’s lavish portfolio of properties worldwide, ingredients and dishes are drawn from Italy, Bali, Thailand, Singapore, Bhutan, Australia and The Maldives to create a fun, fresh and fruity menu.

Combining the best of both savoury and sweet flavours, this light and summery afternoon tea is inspired by ‘The Pleasures of Eating Well,’ the acclaimed COMO Shambhala Kitchen book. The menu begins with five mouth-watering savoury dishes. These include a refreshing chilled almond and green grape gazpacho, a light green garden salad with ginger and miso dressing, zucchini rösti with smoked salmon, dill, and lemon-scented cottage cheese, and tuna daikon noodles with avocado, radish, and a Japanese-inspired Champagne dressing.

Each dish is a masterful infusion of flavours, designed to delight the palate. The afternoon tea concludes with a delightful array of five guilt-free sweet treats, ensuring a satisfying lighter finish. The selection includes refreshing watermelon and pomegranate jelly paired with hibiscus flower sorbet, a wholesome zucchini, walnut, and apple cake topped with lemon-scented yogurt, and a decadent cacao mousse garnished with fresh raspberries and pistachios. To enhance the culinary experience, guests can savour the signature COMO Shambhala ginger tea, served hot or chilled, enjoy the invigorating Berry Quencher, crafted to help repair and revitalise cells.
